Create and issue a quote
A quote tells your customer what you offer and at what price. When they accept, it becomes an order or straight away an invoice.
On iPhone and iPad
- 01Open Sales > Quotes and tap New quote.
- 02Choose the Customer and the currency, and tap Create.
- 03Under Line items, tap Add line item or Select items and enter quantity and price.
- 04Tap Review and issue, check the quote date and tap Issue permanently.
- 05Send by email … opens an email in your mail app with the PDF attached.
- 06When the customer replies, tap Record decision and choose Accepted or Rejected.
On the Mac
- 01Choose Quotes in the sidebar and click Create quote draft.
- 02Enter customer and lines in the document window.
- 03Click Issue quote … in the ⋯ menu.
- 04Record the customer’s answer in the ⋯ menu with Accept … or Decline …
Good to know
- Issuing gives the quote its number; content and PDF are fixed from then on. miphu sends nothing on its own.
- Declining needs a Reason. It stays on the quote.
- After acceptance, Create order is the next step, or Create invoice if you do not use orders.
- You can also write a quote to the company of a lead that is not a customer yet.
Common problems
- miphu says there is no number series for quotes.
- No number series is set up for the year yet. The owner sets it up once.
- I want a similar quote again.
- Open the quote and choose Duplicate in the ⋯ menu.
