E-invoices: XRechnung, Peppol and formats
The e-invoice is a PDF with the XRechnung data embedded. miphu checks it against the official validation rules before issuing; only then does it get its number.
On iPhone and iPad
- 01Open the customer. In the E-invoice section, set Invoices as to E-invoice, or leave the setting on Automatic.
- 02If the customer is a German public authority, enter the Leitweg-ID (public authorities).
- 03In the invoice, choose E-invoice under Details in Output format. Change lets you add payment details and a contact person.
- 04Issue the invoice. Pass the file to the customer with Share e-invoice; other formats are under More formats.
On the Mac
- 01Open the customer. In the E-invoice section, set how they receive invoices, and add the Leitweg-ID for public authorities.
- 02In the invoice, choose the e-invoice under Invoice as and add the details with Change.

Good to know
- With Automatic, a customer gets e-invoices as soon as a Leitweg-ID or Peppol ID is entered, and a PDF otherwise.
- Which file: with a Leitweg-ID the XRechnung, for customers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria the Peppol file (UBL), otherwise the PDF with the data embedded.
- For an e-invoice, miphu needs your VAT ID or tax number and a payment method.
- miphu does not send e-invoices itself, not via Peppol either. For Peppol, use your own access point.
Common problems
- The field for the Leitweg-ID is missing.
- It appears only for customers based in Germany. Check the country in the customer’s address.
- miphu rejects the e-invoice when issuing.
- The check found a problem with one detail; the message names it. The draft stays without a number. Fix the detail and issue again.
- I can only choose PDF.
- Check your tax number or VAT ID in the company details, and the payment method of the invoice.
