Import data from CSV or Excel
Coming from a spreadsheet or another program, you type nothing twice. miphu maps the columns, checks every row and only then creates the records.
On iPhone and iPad
- 01Open Settings and tap Import data in the Administration section.
- 02Choose what you import, such as Import customers, and pick the file.
- 03Under Map columns, check which column goes into which field. If the first row holds the column names, leave First row contains column names on.
- 04Tap Review. Check result shows what is new, what already exists and which rows have errors. Nothing is saved yet.
- 05Decide for existing records: Skip, Update from the file or Create anyway. Then tap Import.
On the Mac
- 01Open Settings with ⌘, and choose Company.
- 02Press ⇧⌘I, or click Import Data… in the Data section.
- 03The steps are the same as on the iPhone: map columns, check, decide, Import.
Good to know
- CSV or .xlsx, up to 10 MB, 10,000 rows and 100 columns. Save older .xls files, Numbers and .ods as .xlsx or CSV first.
- The owner and the administration can import, if they may create that kind of record and the module is switched on.
- After the import, keep the report with Save report …
- If you close the window, the import pauses and continues at the same row the next time. After seven days without it, it ends.
Common problems
- How does miphu recognise duplicates?
- Customers and suppliers by email, VAT ID or name and postcode, leads by email or title and postcode, contacts by email or name at the same customer, articles by item number or GTIN.
- My file is refused.
- Check format and size. Save an .xls file from an old Excel as .xlsx or CSV and choose it again.
- I cannot find Import data.
- Only the owner and the administration see the import.
